Summer Programming in Savannah, Georgia

NOBIS PROJECT DIGTIAL MEDIA INSTITUTE

Using Digital Media to Make a Difference

2012 Nobis Project Digital Media Institute seeks aspiring digital media artists. This unique middle and high school one-week summer program (July 9-13, 2012 or July 16-20, 2012) allows students from grades 6th-10th to gain valuable experience in digital media by providing an atmosphere of fun and collaboration focused on personal, social and artistic growth. As a team, students participate in a group media production that supports the Nobis Project’s commitment to promoting social issues that affect our community.

Students learn the ins and outs of digital media with equipment provided by Savannah’s premier video production facility, Meddin Studios. They develop confidence in their capabilities through technical digital media training tailored to bring out each individual student’s strengths. Nobis Project Digital Media Institute develops students’ creative potential, individually and collectively, by engaging in meaningful activities that impact the community around them.

The program is designed to inspire and motivate students and encourages curiosity, creativity, and discovery. The program will use cooperative and hands-on approaches to teaching media techniques ranging from animation, documentaries, narratives, music videos, digital slideshows to public service announcements. The Institute encourages students to be aware of the world around them and to consider possible solutions to difficult problems by using digital media. Participants will rise to the challenge, take ownership in developing a digital media project and acquire pride in their ability to make a difference. The program concludes with a screening event of participant work. Nobis Project Digital Media Institute provides wonderful opportunities for motivated young citizens to build on their strengths and discover their passions. Download an application today!
